FEEDBACK ON OUR 2-DAY GUIDED CHAOS INTENSIVE SEMINAR IN BRITAIN AT THE UNITY MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY...
|
|
"Dear Grand Master Perkins,
Thank you again for coming to the UK and sharing your time and expertise over the week end. It has been a great opportunity for me to have a chance to train with you, as well as with your top instructors. This confirmed to me the unique value of KCD, which I had got an initial idea from the book and the Conditioning DVD i.e., this is a style which combines ruthless techniques for survival, as well as internal aspects for lifelong personal improvement, into a coherent, compelling format. This is something I had been looking for in all the arts I practiced, without really finding it. I felt most arts I tried over time at least as they are positioned today, separated the internal and the deadly combat aspects; not only were these not part of the same art, it was almost as if they were not compatible. Thank you for getting these back together!
I'll do my best to practice what I was shown, until such time that I may get the opportunity to train with you again.
With my deepest respect, Sylvain Fabre" |

- DISARM/DISABLE ATTACKERS
- DYNAMIC SHOOTING UNDER STRESS
- WHAT DOESN'T WORK
- FOR GUN OWNERS AND NON-GUN OWNERS ALIKE
As most of you may already know on December 1, 2007 we will be having our combat handguns seminar. This will consist of many techniques that will allow you to disarm and/or disable an attacker who is armed with a firearm at close contact range. We will also present methods of shooting under high stress chaotic conditions from various positions most of which will be dynamic. For safety we will be using soft air pellet handguns among other mock weapons for the training. Even if you do not own or use a firearm this seminar will be extremely valuable. Besides the training in what actually works we will present some of what does not work or can be easily made far more usable under realistic conditions. Unfortunately there are some faulty techniques that are taught today in some of the most well known places. Some of these techniques will be closely scrutinized for their validity under dynamic real world conditions. Much of this information is based on actual experience of men and women who have prevailed and some who have not in close contact combative armed encounters. As a forensic expert who has studied this area extensively I have found that there is much that has been overlooked or just missed by some instructors. This does not include those instructors who have diligently studied and researched and trained in realistic and proven methodologies. Fancy or foreign names for maneuvers don't make them better or workable for that matter. While being in great physical condition can enhance most tactical endeavors it is not always necessary for getting through a serious high speed life and death situation. Even if you have had a great deal of training in many schools and have had valid street experience this seminar may answer or create some questions for you. Please examine yourself and ask what it means to you to have knowledge that may make the difference between going home or not at the end of the day. This seminar is good for both the beginner and the most advanced combat oriented people. Reality and Reason not Macho wins the day. JP
All seminars will be at Premier Fitness in Nanuet NY at 11:30am. All seminars are $75 payable with cash or credit card at the front desk ($50 for class members).

Generally – you are limited by the rules. In addition, it is effective because it disrupts the rhythm of a conventional fighter. = This seminar will be comprised of conventional boxing drills, a self defense component including adaptation of Guided Chaos drills for combat boxing (e.g., anywhere strikes with fists, contact flow with fists, fright reaction drills etc.), and Combat Boxing unleashed.
Topics = Proper conditioning and alignment of the fist/wrist, to allow shots to the head. = Standard punches and Guided Chaos modified punches – J, Power Right, Hooks, and uppercuts Looping right hands, overhand rights, etc., punching with a vertical fist (knuckles point outward), Backfist, Drop punches = Unconventional Target areas to move and break balance = The importance of looseness, balance, sensitivity, and body unity. = Guided Chaos warmup drills – focus on fists. = Punching specific GC warmup drills = Speed flow drills = Cha Cha Drill = Footwork drills = RHEM movements using Combat Boxing techniques
Conditioning Drills to Develop Your Fist = Horseshoe Drills = Body Bar Drills = Slam bag Drill
Combat boxing drills for Self Defense = Using backfist to clear someone's guard for an attack/backfist jab. = Close Combat Entry moves using backfist = Defense against wild right hand (typical bar fight type punch) = South Paw stance = Fright Reaction = Bear hug/drop shoulder/body shot/head shot = Fright Reaction Drills -- (using Fighting Man Dummy) Guided Chaos and Conventional Boxing Drills (Using the Heavy Baq) Since there is a sportive aspect to what we are doing, some of the drills are based on conventional boxing drills to develop cardiovascular/muscular endurance, form, etc., others are specific to guided chaos combat boxing. = Left Right/Right Lefts (Conventional boxing drill -- cardivascular/muscular endurance exercise) = Heavy Bag Sprints – (1) squared off stance (conventional boxing drill to develop handspeed); and (2) For Combat Boxing = Dempsey Drop = Hitting Drills as shown in Companion Video Part One. = Punching shifting body weight = Chopping drills using the backfist = Punching using wobble boards = Double heavy bag drill = Spinning Elbow = Anywhere strikes using fists = Interval training = Stick and Stay Quick punches to move the bag = 10 Seconds of Hell/All Out Drills = Freestyle on the Bag
